Their Blatant Hypocrisy Knows No Bounds
The other day one of the most loathsome Senators in the U.S., Democrat Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, suggested that it was time for Israel to hold elections and select a leader other than Benjamin Netanyahu. Bibi pitched a fit, how dare Schumer comment on Israeli elections!
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told CNN on Sunday that U.S. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s speech in which he urged new elections in Israel was “totally inappropriate.”
In a speech on the Senate floor on Thursday, Schumer, a longtime supporter of Israel and the highest-ranking Jewish U.S. elected official, called for new elections in Israel and said Netanyahu was an obstacle to peace.
“I think what he said is totally inappropriate. It’s inappropriate to go to a sister democracy and try to replace the elected leadership there,” Netanyahu said in the CNN interview.

I am no fan of Schumer but he is a Jew after all and as such it seems perfectly reasonable for an American Jew to comment on the affairs of a Jewish ethnostate that is funded by the U.S. to the tune of billions per year. Of course Republicucks scrambled to condemn Schumer for questioning The Glorious Leader of Our Greatest Ally…
Republican congressman Michael McCaul, who leads the House of Representatives Foreign Relations Committee, criticized Schumer’s Thursday speech on Netanyahu.
“You don’t talk about toppling a government in a democracy,” McCaul told Fox News Sunday, calling Schumer’s remarks “very inappropriate” and “embarrassing.”
Toppling a foreign government by suggesting that they….hold elections? Even by Republican standards this Michael McCaul guy sounds stupid.
Meanwhile….
AIPAC, the “American Israel Public Affairs Committee”, is a lobbying outfit that lobbies American politicians on behalf of Israel. For any that missed it, Israel is a foreign nation but AIPAC openly advocates for the interests of that foreign nation.
AIPAC is expected to spend $100 million across its political entities in 2024, taking aim at candidates they deem insufficiently supportive of Israel, according to three people with direct knowledge of the figure, who were granted anonymity to discuss private meetings.
The strategy has taken on new urgency this election season from donors animated by the Israel-Hamas war. AIPAC’s biggest targets are members of the so-called Squad of progressive House Democrats who have been openly pressuring the administration to call for a cease-fire. But AIPAC’s ambitions are broader. United Democracy Project, the group’s super PAC, is monitoring 15 to 20 House races and polling in many of those districts, according to a person directly familiar with UDP’s strategy and granted anonymity to discuss the approach.
“They’ll have so much money, wherever there’s an opportunity, they will take it,” said one Democratic donor adviser who is involved in the effort and was granted anonymity to speak candidly about the organization’s plans.

AIPAC has never been shy about flexing their muscles and if anything has become bolder in recent years. A little deeper in the Politico article is this little gem…
So far this cycle, AIPAC has bundled at least $19 million for House and Senate campaigns, according to a POLITICO analysis of campaign finance filings. Top recipients include high-ranking members such as House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries of New York and Democratic Caucus Chair Pete Aguilar of California, as well as stalwart Israel supporters such as Rep. Ritchie Torres (D-N.Y.) and Rep. Mike McCaul (R-Texas).
Ah Michael McCaul again. Looks like AIPAC is getting what they paid for as McCaul dutifully attacks Chuck Schumer for suggesting that a democracy hold elections.
AIPAC is absolutely trying to influence and manipulate our political system, funding slavishly pro-Israel politicians and going after politicians They deem to be insufficiently obsequious toward Israel. It is blatant and ought to be illegal but because it is on behalf of Israel, no one is supposed to talk about it. AIPAC doesn’t care about “conservatism”, They fund Democrats and Republican alike. They don’t care about what is good for America and the American people. All They care about is what is best for Israel, at least in the eyes of the hardline Zionist Likud-type of Jews like Benjamin Netanyahu.
If you are keeping score at home:
An American Jew suggesting that Israel hold elections and maybe consider new leadership is blatant interference in the affairs of a sovereign nation.
An Israeli lobbying group spending $100,000,000 to directly influence elections in a sovereign nation is perfectly acceptable.
It takes a lot to make me sympathize with Chuck Schumer, so well done. Our Greatest Ally indeed.
